Hi,

I was considering, instead of plainly dropping the phishing emails, why
not deceiving it: having automatic replys with invalid informations.

I guess that people who launch phishing campaings get few answers, but
the answers they get are correct, the username and password match. What
would happen if they gey thousands of answers that are mostly incorrect?
They would have to waste time and resources to check every answer.

>From us, user point of view, if the answering process is automated, it
will take only a limited amount of resources to answer the phishing
mails.

I know it is not the scope of SA, but I do not part take in many spam
fighting projects :)

In the same way, when I get a promotional phone call, I just put the
phone aside, but I certainly not hang... I let the advertisment go full
way: during the minute or so they spend talking to my phone, they cannot
annoy some other person (while if I hanged immediately after 5 seconds,
they would still have 55 seconds to try other numbers). If we all did
that, their efficiency would go down hil (and their phone bill would go
opposite direction). From my point of view, it costs me one minute of
battery time on my phone (the burden of answering a spam phone call, I
already got it), the risk of missing another call is reduces to
something so close to zero it is not worth mentionning and I have the
pkleasure of knowing that I have them waste their time.

Best regards,

Olivier
