first, tell us:
1) version of SA
2) version of re2c
3) what rules, other than stock SA rules do you have
4) what local rules, changes, edits do you have?
5) what operating system, i386/amdf64?
6) did you check to make sure you have the latestest SA and re2c?

1) SpamAssassin version 3.3.1
2) re2c 0.12.3
3) Very large local.cf ruleset since we are biological research company thus the large local.cf
4) This is what I just added:

body PHARM_PHISH_222 /& " &/i
 score PHARM_PHISH_222 90.0
describe PHARM_PHISH_222 With & " & and phish link 222

5) Red Hat Linux 2.6.18-194.8.1.el5xen
6) SA up to date however re2c needs updating.

I removed the above ruleset and now sa-compile correctly. This rule had Cyrillic characters which appears to have choked sa-compile./re2c from some reason. I have added Cyrillic characters before but this first time I got this error from this. It is strange that Cyrillic characters (at least what I can read) could do this.

Thank you,
Frank
