Really? Over ten years ago when I lived in the UK, my first provider was Nildram, I'm sure they didn't run the local exchange. Same here in Switzerland - most of the fibre and copper belongs to Swisscom, then Sunrise and Cablecom, but there are many companies who will sell you the connectivity based on a resale of the copper/fibre. /Per Jessen, Zürich
