if spamd is running on the same machine.

Does the maillog file on the machine running spamd log have any messages that might indicate problems at the time the error occurred?

 mailog I get this:

ServerA spamc [7277]: connect to spamd on 172.16.0.14
Failed, retrying (# 1 of 3): Interrupted system call

I'm sorry, I was not clear. Are there any log messages from spam_d_ (the daemon)? You've already told us about the log message from spam_c_.

How much memory does the system have spamd?

1GB memory, these are the options to lift the SA

/ usr / bin / spamd-v-u vpopmail-m 10-x-q-s stderr-r / var / run / spamd /
spamd.pid \
        172.16.10.9-A-i 172.16.10.0/24 2> & 1 | \
        / usr / local / bin / setuidgid qmaill \
        / usr / local / bin / multilog t! spamdappend / var / log / qmail / spamd
&
        echo "spamd started"
        ;;

Is there anything in /var/log/qmail/spamd?

Spamassassin _ever_ Has worked reliably for you? In other words, is this the first time you've used SA 3.2.5 and it's always had this problem, or SA 3.2.5 was working well for a long time and then it started failing?

We have recently installed S.A

OK. This means it may not have been installed correctly.

I am not familiar with qmail or simscan. Perhaps someone else on the list will offer some advice.
