You have to use a non-standard configuration, otherwise the system crashes (mine got to the point that it thought it didn't even have an OS installed). Using the Topic Desk tutorials I was able to update SA, ClamAV, SquirrelMail and Amavis-new, and switch from ClamScan to Clamd.
I contributed a tiny bit to the current version of the tutorials in the form of updates.
