That is what it is SUPPOSED to be. What it actually is is something else.

Every version of what you describe that I've looked at has been the courtesy message.

Things happen. Messages get stuck in queues. Old queues get restored from backups. Old systems are brought online prior to a wipe / recommission. $THINGS

I would expect that a message that someone else sent to the mailing list which failed to send to you would not come from your server.

No, and I never said that.

My interpretation of your comment about not coming from your mail server suggested otherwise.
