Why does the spamassassin test use TXREP but the spamc test does not?

Do I have to start spamd up in a specific way to use TXREP? Anybody have any ideas?

spamc connects to spamd, which may run under different user than
spamassassin. That way, different users' settings are used.

check how does your spamd run (which user, if any)
