Also I'm running Communigate as my email server and I just have one rule set up to check all incoming messages so I don't have a way for individuals to set up their own preferences. I launch spamd with "/usr/local/bin/spamd -d -u admin --nouser-config" so all the bayes files and such are in the admin users home directory. If anyone has experience working more complex configurations of SpamAssassin with Communigate, I would appreciate the help.

if understand everything you wrote you want to load awl from the filesystem and the userprefs via sql, right? do you have any error messages from your logfiles available for a closer look?
