I am using postifx 2.0.16 and I had installed SpamAssassin 3.01 but it turns about that I was actually using the 2.55 binaries that came with RHEL 3. I just removed the 2.55 install and am now up and running with the 3.01 SpamAssassin which seems to have solved this problem.
However, I am still a little worried about this issue of using an out of date script. I looked over the SpamAssassin Wiki on spamd/spamc installs with postfix and it shows the same script as found on hurring.com - which as you pointed out is out of date.
Does anyone out there have a better script for doing site wide spamd/spamc installs with postfix 2.0?
Thanks! Kevin

I assume you're referring to the master.cf script, correct? My spamc is configured to match the instructions given in the hurring.com HOWTO.
Its out dated...
spamassassin unix - n n - - pipe
user=nobody argv=/usr/bin/spamc -u ${recipient} -f -e
/usr/sbin/sendmail -oi -f ${sender} ${recipient}
man spamc shows there is no -f in the current spamc.
What version of postfix are you using? What version of spamassassin are you using? Are you using per user config or site wide? By the config I expect your answer to be site wide.
I think droping the -f for the spamc call will cure your ail's.
