It's been mentioned several times in the past to limit f.i. memory usage of spamd, so that it cannot run "out of control". But without any real-world examples. How do I do this? There is an /etc/security/limits.conf file one my Suse Linux systems which purports to be for this kind of thing. But I don't get it to work. F.i. spamd hard rss 30000 in that file doesn't have any effect, although the spamd process uses more memory. Do I need to add a PAM file for spamd or similar, if so how should it look?
