Actually I have, and if you search the mail lists quite a ways back,
you'll probably find all my findings.

I created the eval back in 2.6x to do spell check and create a spelling
ratio.  The bad thing is, there are a lot of bad speller out there.
There are also a lot of things we use in email that just arent
dictionary words.   SpamAssassin, IMHO, web URI's etc etc...  I tried
doing many common filters for URIs, accronyms, abbreviations, and such
but could never produce a reliable result.

And not to mention, its very bad on system resources to spell check
email at the server level.  This is something for the client level and
should remain at the client level.

If you want to waste your time on this.. Go for it!   All the luck to ya
