On a Ubuntu serveur, I use a solr -8.11.3 with a huge collection that I can't re-index. Now, I need to use knn-vectors, and if I understand this kind of field is only available from version 9. So, as I can't re-index my big collection to a 9 version, I would like to have a 8 and a 9 version, both on the same server. The v8 installation has been done by using the auto installation process, now this is what I do for the v9: I downloaded under /opt/ the solr-9.9.0.tgz and extract it in. I set to a new SOLR_PORT in solr.in.sh, that's all. But before running this new instance I would like to have your opinion if this method is ok.
