That whole "cloud" thing is great, I'm sure, but honestly: if I don't have the load to balance or servers that fall down and cry every time a mouse moves, I have hard time figuring out why spend time and effort.
Unless you have access to a container infra and can use solr-operator: that should handle all those cloud details for you and you get the best of all worlds.
