Glad to see a french team in the project, but the exact same expectation
here.
I have to say that support at Inverse is/was really high quality, thanks
for the great job !

In stead of us speculating about what to expect from Alinto, it would
be helpful if the team of Alinto that takes over the Sogo code would
join the list and express their plans.
It is only a few months until Alinto takes over and I have not seen
much about from their side yet. There is just the EOL message from
Inverse and a pretty brief statement on Alinto's website. It leaves me
with a lot of questions on how Sogo will be developed in the future
and if it remains to be open source at all? And indeed what will
happen to side products as the Sogo-connector...? Is it time to fork
the code or should we start to look for a different solution and make
a migration plan?
Alinto, please join this list, help to provide answers and take part
in the discussions!

I'm not working for Alinto, the company which takes over maintenance
of SOGo. However, I've talked to a sales representative some months
ago as we were inquiring for a support license, and they told me
that they are relocating the development of SOGo (server) to France,
and would continue development. We didn't talk about the
sogo-connector specifically though. Do you have specific indications
that they will stop development of sogo-connector? It would be a
pity, especially because TB is getting a major overhaul since about
2 years.
No. No specific indications. However their product is:
"SOGomail by Alinto"
Powerful business-class mail Server for organisations that are
looking for a proven European alternative.
And I don't see any indication that they will support Thunderbird.
Come to that support from Inverse was not really enthusiastic in the
last release.
As mentioned our best bet is to work to get most of this into TB
itself or a lightweight addon.
