Dear Christian,
I also managed to recover another calendar response from an external
invite that the other person thankfully send back to me. It shows
"NEEDS-ACTION" but also "ACCEPTED":

I hope that helps to pin down the issue. It seems that there is
contradicting information in the response or do I missread that?

Dear Christian,
thanks for your feedback and suggestions. I had to think a little bit
to understand how to make the test cases...

Dear Andi,
having had a similar issue just resently I'll try to answer some
questions.
Am 09.06.21 um 09:19 schrieb Andi ([email protected]):
Dear Sogo-Users,
I am facing an issue when accepting invitations in Thunderbird. I am
using SOGo 5.1.1 but the issue was experienced across prior
versions. I am also not sure if this is a SOGo issue or a
Thunderbird issue.
I have seen the behaviour you describe occasionally and could not
reliably reproduce it.
Do you have the nightly builds installed or the release?
I use the nightly build but the issue has been persistent across
several versions updates.
Invitations send to me by mail are showing up in Thunderbird and I
can select "Accept" to add them to my calendar which works
perfectly. However all invitations are accepted as "I will decide
later" instead of "I will attend". I have tried to understand if the
acceptance mail is send by thunderbird or SOGo and if the Error is
in the Thunderbird setup or SOGo setup however so far I am was
unable to understand what happens when I select "Accept" in
Thunderbird.
My understanding is that the "acceptance" mails are by default send
by SOGo, however I do not understand the way Thunderbird
communicates to SOGo that such a mail needs to be send. I found that
there is an option in the Thunderbird Lignthing/Calendar Module that
influences if the mail is send directly by Thunderbird or by SOGo
(Client) and I tried both options but with the same result described
above. Can anymore point me to possible settings I might have
screwed up to cause this behavior, maybe some kind of default to
always accept invitations as preliminary?
Thunderbird but an ICS file on the sogo-server. The server then sends
the email.
If you set in the Preferences of the calendar that TB should send
them then TWO emails are send. One from SOGo one from TB. You can
check there which one causes problems.
Any suggestions or help is highly appreciated.
You could send the ics file attached to the email to the list so we
can check what is generated by TB and/or SOGo.
I enabled "prefer client" in TB in our testcase there were actually 3
reply mails (one from my TB, two from SOGO, One with invite.ics
See responses from Thunderbird and sogo below. Both invite.ics files
seem to be reasonable and show ACCEPTED. This is also reflected in the
mail send by thunderbird: Accepted invitation: "Test"

The only difference ist the "3D" which sogo adds behind each "="....?
However, when I check calendar entry in the SOGo GUI it says "I will
decide later".
Also I have feeback from an external where he received the following
mail from me even though I clicked accepted.
# Not yet decided on invitation: "XXXXX"
#Andreas Wiener has not yet decided upon your event invitation.
I am trying to get the invite.ics from above external source to double
check it as well.
Does this only happen on external invites?
No, in our testcase we are able to reproduce that also with only
internal invitations.
I am very confused. Right now I always work with "clicking ACCEPT" in
TB and then I go to the SOGO web-Interface to check the calendar entry
and fix to "I will attend".....
Regards
Christian
