I have also some issues with ActiveSync. Snychronization of events from SOGo server to Android phone works well, but if I change the event title on my phone and it contains some unicode characters (like "čeština") it becomes trimmed – on server then I see for example "ascii text " instead of "ascii text čeština" which I wrote on my phone. Could you please test it with your Android 4.1.2? I don't know if this is only an issue of my old Android (2.3.7) or if it is a bug in SOGo. E.g. use some French unicode characters and try to edit event on your phone.
