A follow-up question. When being prompted for the KDC server, should
that be the FQDN or just the server name? There is another place during
apt-get where the server name is requested also. Should that be the FQDN
as well?

It's a very important fix of an annoying bug in the official release.
After that the /var/lib/sogosync/backend/combined/imap.php (0 byte
long file) is removable.
The downloadable install package has been updated yet.
