Install 10.0 ESR instead of Thunderbird 11. :)
You can either download the package from mozilla, extract it wherever
you want and run it from there. (Thats what I did until the updated
version hit the oneiric repositories.) Or, if you prefer a .deb, look
for a repository, I'm sure there will be one that will keep the ESR
version for the different ubuntu/debian versions.
If you cannot find a repository, you should be able to build your own
.deb by doing the following:
(Maybe a 'apt-get build-dep thunderbird' before)
Download the debianized sources (.dsc, .orig.tar.gz, .diff.gz) from
http://packages.ubuntu.com/oneiric-updates/thunderbird
dpkg-source -x thunderbird*.dsc
cd thunderbird*
dpkg-buildpackage -uc -us -rfakeroot -b
Didn't test it for TB, but it works for me for most other software that
I need in a (usually) newer version.
