Some users have been complaining that when they start a new email and
type in the email address by hand, the name turns read and gets hung
during the typing process. You just have to wait until t-bird comes back
and then you can start typing again. If you keep typing, t-bird just
drops most of the characters, so if you type:
"abcdefghijklmnop" you get "abcdep" then it hangs for another 5 sec and
you have to try to delete the "p" and then start typing the "fgh..."
again. For some users, this can cause 5secon waiting every 1 sec, so
it can take 1 minute to type an email address. I've seen the same
problem on my computer, but much much less dramatic (0.5 second wait
every now and again). I'm assuming the difference in because of the size
of our addressbooks and Tbird/sogo is doing some queries to try to go
auto-complete on the address. But once you type "asbfasdf" doesn't it
realize that that address isn't in the addressbook and then stop doing
queries, etc.
Anyone else see this? Is this a SOGo issue, or a t-bird or t-bird plugin
issue?
Ben
