I solved the problem by adding the " SOGoForceIMAPLoginWithEmail" option.

a) your dovecot allows plaintext passwords?
b) your dovecot uses the same password for the imap account as you configured
SOGo to use? (is the LDAP bind password identical to the dovecot IMAP mailbox
password for a user)?
