Hi Andreas,

The provided ISO's are indeed a bit outdated. There are some newer builds found here: https://resources.ovirt.org/repos/ovirt/github-ci/ovirt-node-ng-image/ But I think you are more flexible if you install CentOS Strean 9 or AlmaLinux 9 and do the install there.

That should be working without problems? Could you share the errors you receive?

Next to that, oVirt is NOT dead :) Yes it was a bit in maintenance mode for some time, but we are working on making it alive and kicking again. And planning to do a new release for sure the next months when everything is in a good shape again.

Thanks
Jean-Louis

Nothing against oVirt, it's a great product.. however the future of it is somewhat up in the air from what I've last seen. If you are looking at starting a new project I would personally consider an alternative like Proxmox.

Just my humble opinion.

    Hi all,

I have been looking into oVirt and researching possible
    utilization by my team.
I have been through the instructions in the site, on github and
the forums. I have attempted both with self hosted using the ISO
provided and as a standalone engine installation on a separate
    server.
However I have been getting all kinds of different failures and
errors and since I understand that some of the instructions
provided could be slightly outdated can you please direct me to
the most accurate and recent instructions to follow for setting up
    and testing the environment?
Also is there a new version planned some time soon or should I
consider the 4.5.5 version from almost 2 years ago the most recent
    and updated one?

    Best Regards,

    Andreas Giannakopoulos
