Using the engine UI to create a brick maps 1 disk -> 1 brick. So if you want to use sde to create multiple bricks, that is not possible currently via the UI. Once you create bricks on the 2 hosts - you need to expand the gluster volume and add the bricks from the 2 nodes. Can you provide a bit more detail on the error you ran into while installing on 3 hosts.
