According to sources vznetstat request this statistic from kernel https://src.openvz.org/projects/OVZ/repos/vzctl/browse/src/vznetstat.c#287 https://src.openvz.org/projects/OVZ/repos/vzctl/browse/src/tc.c#120 They refers to containers lifetime, they should be resetted after stop of container.
