Hi Vasily,
Tank you for replying!
I've tried to copy all firmware from the host to the VE, but the end
result are the same (after restarting the VE of course).
I'm unsure about the previous kernel working, but I see the following
kernels installed:
drwxr-xr-x 30 root root 4096 sep 14 18:01
2.6.32-openvz-042stab111.11-amd64
drwxr-xr-x 30 root root 4096 okt 27 13:08
2.6.32-openvz-042stab112.15-amd64
drwxr-xr-x 30 root root 4096 jan 5 15:22
2.6.32-openvz-042stab113.11-amd64
I think it was working with 2.6.32-openvz-042stab112.15-amd64 or at
least 2.6.32-openvz-042stab111.11-amd64.

Dear Johan,
As far as I see, driver generates udev event, probably in your case it is
handled inside according continer.
Could you please try to copy according file from host to container?
If it does not help -- could you please tell us previous kernel version, where
NIC worked correctly inside your container?
Thank you,
Vasily Averin

Hi!
I upgraded to kernel 2.6.32-openvz-042stab113.11-amd64 on my Debian 7 HN
yesterday. One of the VE's have a physical NIC delegated inside, like this:
NETDEV="eth3"
After reboot, this NIC doesn't work in the VE. After digging around I noticed
this in syslog on the HN:
[ 305.037939] CT: 1023: started
[ 307.941433] bnx2 0000:04:00.1: firmware: requesting
bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-6.2.1b.fw
[ 367.988961] bnx2: Can't load firmware file "bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-6.2.1b.fw"
The firmware for the NIC is there (HP Proliant server), and it works on the HN,
but when delegated into the VE it doesn't.
I attached a usb-nic to the server (no firmware needed) and it worked. So
something seems broken with NETDEV + firmware.
Any ideas why this is so?
/Johan
