I could duplicate the error. I'm running: vzkernel-2.6.32-042stab093.5.x86_64 vzctl-4.8-1.x86_64 ploop-1.12.1-1.x86_64 I created a Debian 7 container because my preferred container distros (EL7 and Fedora) do now have an e3 package in their repos and Debian 7 did. Looking for info on e3 before installing it, it looks like the homepage for it no longer exists so I have to wonder if the software is abandonware. Anyway, I created a debian 7 container with ploop-based storage and was able to duplicate the issue if I tried to edit an existing file but not if I edited a new file. It would be interesting to discover the cause of the error... but indeed there are a few dozen other editors to pick from. Hopefully they'll figure out the cause and address it.
