In Ubuntu 10.04 the Oo I have will convert to 2003 xls.
With 3.3 the only option is to save the ODS as an Excel 2000 XLS.
Open the .ods document. Then choose FILE - SAVE AS and in the drop down
window select the Excel version you wish to save into.
