The download page has a note (in red letters) that says “important hints for OSX (>= 10.7(DMG) which used to point to a page explaining how to install on a MAC. It doesn’t as of this post. Instead, go to https://www.openoffice.org/download/common/instructions.html#gatekeeper and there are detailed instructions there.
The Ioen Office web page needs to have the link (in red) say “How to Install on a Mac!!!!!) and have you directed to the Apple support document at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202491 and do a search (command + F). For the text "If you want to open an app that hasn’t been notarized or is from an unidentified developer”. That section has clear and convincing directions n how to install on a MAC. Dave B. Since purchasing a new Mac for the very first time I thought I would be able to load the latest version onto that machine but I can't. When I try I get the following message: macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware. This item is on the disk image “Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.13_MacOS_x86-64_install_en-US.dmg”. Safari downloaded this disk image on 11 August 2022. Does anyone out there know if it is possible to install and use Apache Open Office onto a Mac? I can’t bear the thought of having to learn and use Apple Pages. Kindest regards, Rob Cook rob.coo...@virginmedia.com
