Java was and still is indeed installed and it is the only
package that provides JRE.
To wit:
java-11-openjdk-1:11.0.12.0.7-4.fc35.x86_64 : OpenJDK 11 Runtime Environment
Repo : fedora
Matched from:
Provide : jre = 1:11.0.12.0.7-4.fc35
So, how is it that 4.1.10 does not find it now,
whereas it did not have any problems with it just 2 weeks ago.
At any rate I did update OO to .11 and now it sort-of works.
By that I mean if I open a file, it immediately takes me to
a recovery dialog, yet It does not tell me what file it is
recovering exactly!!!
Very strange!!!

javaldx: invalid settings. User must select a JRE from options dialog!
Make sure you have Java installed and configured in the AOO options.
Sometimes, when Java is updated it gets deselected.
(Of course, it should give a message instead of crashing)
/opt/openoffice4/program/soffice: line 132: 3789 Segmentation
fault (core dumped) "$sd_prog/$sd_binary" ""$BOOTSTRAPVARS""
So, what is the workaround???
Depending on your OS (Linux?) get Java 8 or Java 11 installed and
selected in AOO.
PS: I am running version 4.1.10.
You may want to update to 4.1.11.
