been battling to use a simple formula in a spreadsheet to cause each cell 'Fx' to equal the contents of cell 'Ex' of the same row multiplied by the contents of cell 'Dx'. I have done this in MS Office v2 to v6 and 97, Star Office on both OS/2 & various Linux versions and libreoffice until version 6. When I try to do this, either on Linux or win10 I get either no result or messages along the lines of #error=NAME?, #NAME=#508? or just no result. I can't see any explanation when I search for the meaning of the error messages Even when I tried to open a sheet I did a couple of years ago with very similar calculations in LibreOffice I experienced the same problems. Please help, it is doing my head in.
