Start TaskManager (Ctrl Shift Esc) and kill all "soffice" processes shown on TM's tabs. Note the initial "s" in "soffice". Once these are killed (some may have been left over after your crash) OpenOffice 4.1.6 should install. One of these processes will also be from the QuickStarter - there are other ways to stop this, but the above will do so.
