Hello,

for those interested, I found out that at least LibreOffice Writer (I have
tried 5.3.0) is actually able to read back text in the document edit field when
typing or navigating within the document if I enable the "Book mode with two
pages as in an open book". Although with some inconveniences, particularly,
each line of text is treated as a separate edit field which causes VoiceOver to
announce extra information each time you move to another line.

However, there are more accessibility issues in LibreOffice, for instance, some
pop-up menus are not working and some parts of Preferences cannot be accessed
or lead to an application crash, that is, almost the same problems as in
OpenOffice, but at least the most important thing, screen reader feedback in
the document content, is working in LibreOffice, as opposed to OpenOffice.

Best regards
