Apache OpenOffice is one of the many ASF FOSS (Free Open Source Software) projects. See: https://projects.apache.org/projects.html As such there is no "marketing" in the sense you mean. Regarding communication, for a working program the in-built "Help" facility provides full communication information, otherwise a web search for "OpenOffice Help" the first hit returned by Yahoo and most other search engines links to: http://www.openoffice.org/support/ Version 3.1 is very old (released before Apache OpenOffice was established) and has known security vulnerabilities. If you haven't already done so, an upgrade to version 4.1.2 would be advisable. Note: I am just a user of the software and do not write for or on behalf of the ASF or any of it's projects.
