The "program" asks for a password? Which program? I think it's the spreadshet which has been protected with a password.
But in general: The reason to use a password is, to prohibit access without password and just belive, it's defintliy not easy to crack such a system. (What would the sense of such a protection be, if you could crack it in minute?)
There are crackers using different ways to try passwords, but I've no expirience using them.
