Open Offices 4.1.2 PC OS is Windows 7 Home Addition, 32Bit. PC has an AMD Sempron Processor, 1.6Ghz and 2Gb of memory. Open Office downloaded via Official Apache site. Problem: Attempting to open a document file (or any other file type that Open Office will handle) from Windows Explorer results in the following Error Message “This operation requires elevation”. Open Office has been installed by the user, who has Admin Rights, and has been set for use by all users of the machine. If an attempted to open any of the same files once Open Office is running they open normally. If a “repair” to the Open Office installation is attempted via Windows Control Panel “Programs and Features” the Error message “Fatal Error in Installation Files” is given. Open Office has been downloaded and installed a number of times, each time deleting as many of the previous files as could be found. No errors are reported during initial installation. The previous version 4.1.1 of Open Office operated without any problems and no alterations have been made to the PC.
