For those who upgraded to Windows 10 *Home*, the problem may be a difference in access positions to certain folders on their PC. I recommend trying this at the *folder* level. With luck, it will apply to the entire Document, OneDrive, and other folders containing user data that is now found to be set to Read Only. On the troublesome folder (or individual file), find it in the Windows File Explorer. Then right click on the folder or file name, and select Properties on the list that pops out. On the Properties display, click “Security” Then select HomeUsers and click the Edit button. Add Modify control and Write to the permissions. (Or just take All or Full control, depending on what the options are in your configuration.) For other cases of suspected Windows 10 Upgrade issues, please continue to report here. I may have solved the problem. Once I got into PROPERTIS there are these under GROUP OR USER NAMES: SYSTEM HomeUsers (computorroom\HomeUsers) Administrator (computorroom\Administrator) SECURITY TAB UNDER PERMISSIONS: All parts were allowed for SYSTEM AND ADMINISTRATOR but for HOMEUSERS only READ & EXECUTE AND READ WERE ticked. I changed the PERMISSIONS to allow ALL for HOMEUSERS. I tested on BNS TRACKING and the read only in the title of the same spreadsheet of OPENOFFICE disappeared. I did a test line on the spreadsheet and used SAVE AS and got an updated correct spreadsheet. I will review other spreadsheets that I have and make according changes. Unless you may wish to add other comments/suggestions, I gratefully thank you for complete help. By the way, should any other or further complications occur may I call on you? The next test is to find out exactly where those folders are on your Windows 10 PC. Let's concentrate on the "\DOCUMENTS" folder. Find where \DOCUMENTS\STOCK SHARES.ods is on your computer, using Windows 10 File Explorer. You may have to open it on OpenOffice and Click File Save As ... to see what folder OpenOffice shows as the already-known location. Cancel any Save As ... . Then go find that folder using the Windows 10 File Explorer. When you have found it in File Explorere, right click on the file name in the File Explorer window and click Properties on the pop-down window. In the Properties window on the General tab, is the the Attribute: Read-only box checked on the bottom row of the tab information? If so, see if you can remove the Read-only check in that box. If the check is shown in a grayed box, this will probably fail. If there is a warning message, what is it? If clearing the check box works, you can just do this for other files.
