I have two read-only sections in a Writer document with a new line character in between, and the program will not let me remove that new line character! How can I make this happen?
I'm guessing you mean an empty paragraph, as a line break is easy to remove. I suspect you cannot remove this. But there are workarounds:
o Set the font size of the empty paragraph as small as possible. The smallest font size offered to me is six points - but you can type values into the relevant fields and the smallest value I can get to stick is two points.
o Set the paragraph line spacing (at Format | Paragraph... | Indents & Spacing | Line spacing) as small as possible. If I select Fixed, the smallest value I can enter is 0.05 cm - which has a very similar effect to the two-point method above.
o (Best) Hide the empty paragraph, using character formatting. Go to Format | Character... | Font Effects, and tick Hidden.
I trust this helps. Brian Barker --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
