 Dear Stewert;

This is a known issue with some versions of AOO on Mac systems. Below is
the section from the 4.0.1 release notes with a work around:

Also most all attachments to the list are stripped by the software that
manages the mailing lists. If a screen shot is needed to help explain
your problem then it is best to upload it to a file sharing site and
post a link to it in the e-mail to the list.

If you find that you are running a version less that v4.1.0 than I would
suggest that you upgrade to 4.1.0 as it is the latest release and has
many bug fixes.
