Page Numbers Troubleshooting

Hello, I have Apache OpenOffice 4.0.1 and recently my page numbers worked
fine when i went to 'insert' -> 'fields' -> 'page number', but now when I
click page number the actual letters "page number" come up, as well as in
the other fields like page count. How can i fix this? I have found no
solution on the web.
