Opening the email some how installed Openoffice on my system.
That's wrong. It was you who installed it. Why do you follow links or run attachments from spam E-mails? Microsoft will NEVER send you 'update' E-mails.
There are many forums where volunteers deal with people's malware. We can tell what you have installed on your system instead of OO.
