it means that openoffice cannot recognise the document's type (doc, odt, rtf etc) and therefore treats it as a plaintext file. it may be of use to know what format the file originally had. then it asks whether I want to open a read-only document or a copy document because an unknown user has blocked my access to the document. check the folder in which the document resides for a tiny file with a name like '.~lock.filename.ext#' and delete it to unlock your file.
Whenever I select either, it opens a document with 6 pages of hash-tags and no text.
that sounds not very optimistic; your document may have gone forever. this problem used to be discussed in the past: http://markmail.org/message/ia7lklvwvnsxemqo it would be nice if you acomplish the survey to give more information about your issue: http://survey.openoffice.org/index.php/334187/lang-en it may help prevent analogous problems in future. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
