Greetings,
I am formatting a short story collection for CreateSpace, and I'm having an
issue with formatting. I want to have NO headers or footers of any kind on
the title page, dedication, table of contents and foreword. I would like
the first page of each story to have a page number, but no header. All
other pages, I would like page numbers and a header that is different on
the right an left pages.

I hope that is all clear.

I have read several forum posts about page styles, and I know that what I
want is possible. But the posts I have read either use exaples that do not
pertain to what I am trying to do, or are written in an esoteric language
that I find hard to follow. I need the kindergarten explanation.

How do I tell the page style of the page my cursor is on?
How do I change the page style of the page my cursor is on?
How can I make the title page, dedication, etc. A different page style than
the chapters thenselves, and how can I make the chapter title pages a
different style than the remaining pages?

I have tried to follow directions from forum posts, but the best result I
got was having a header and footer on ebery other page. I tried inserting
page breaks and selecting the next style for the secrion that follows, but
when I turned headers or footers on it would put them on pages both above
and below the page breaks I inserted.

I am terribly confused and frustrated, and I feel like I'm not smart enough
to figure this out. Please help, and please give me the plain English
version!
