Go to Menu->Format->Page and make selections. This will set your basic page size and layout.
For space between paragraphs, etc. go to Menu->Format->Paragraph and make your selections. If you want to format characters do the same as above two steps: Menu->Format->Characters. Then you can save the document as a template or style to be reused. HTH.
