Apache OpenOffice does not save as .docx at this time.

However, it would be useful to know if it can open the file that you saved
as .docx.  And of course, it will be interesting to see what Microsoft
Office does with it as well.

Just went thru a docx routine in LibreOffice. Was sent a file in docx.
Program opened the file and I edited it. Saved it in docx. Could not
even open it again in LO! Could not open it in WordPerfect either!
It might be a good idea to check the performance of OO for the
same problems. (It's too late at nite for me to do that. I didn't have
OO on the other computer, so used LO.)
