The Apache Open Office Spell Check does not work anymore. It now puts
red squiggly lines under every work. What is going on with this? Is
there a fix?

Max;
If you jut upgraded to Apache OpenOffice 3.4.1 from an older
OpenOffice.org release the problem may be caused by a problem in one of
the Dictionaries provided in the English spelling and hyphenation
extension. The extension provides a number of English variant
dictionaries (US,UK,CA, etc.).
The fix if this is the problem is to delete all but the dictionary for
the English Variant that you use. Since I us EN-US, the directions will
use that as an example. If that is not what you use, replace it with the
variant that you do.
1: Open OpenOffice
2: Click Tolls/Extensions
a: This will list all of the extensions you have installed,
including all the dictionaries.
b: the only EN dictionary you want is English spelling and
hyphenation dictionary and thesaurus 2010.03.16
3: Select the dictionary to remove and click remove button.
4: Repeat step 3 until all English dictionaries except English spelling
and hyphenation dictionary and thesaurus 2010.03.16 are removed.
The above procedure should cure you current problem. This is a known
Issue with the 3.4.x releases and is being tracked in our issue tracker.

Keith
