Excellent, thanks Neil, can't believe I hadn't noticed that option in the menus previously, and it seems to resolve the issue as hoped. I've also thought in the past it was possibly due to a multi-monitor setup, as I usually use my MBP with a larger external monitor, but I'm now on the road with just the laptop, and did the config reset while on this setup. Anyhow, I now have a resolution, so thanks again.

You don't need to reconfigure all settings.  Just do `Window / Reset
Windows` to get back to the default window layout.
