The question "bugfixes vs new features?" My company uses Netbeans on Windows and macOS for the development of JavaFX clients and for the development of PHP web applications.
We originally wanted to move from Netbeans 7.4 to 8.2, but the macOS version had so many problems with: - find usage (freeze) - refactoring (freeze) - find text Additionally, PHP support was still missing in the new Apache Netbeans 9-11 and the JavaFX support was broken. Now we hoped for the current Apache Netbeans 11.2 (+php) "find usage" and "refactoring" work again.😀 But the macOS version always shows problems with the editor, that the cursor can disappear when switching tab, especially for copy and paste actions (NETBEANS 3811) Sometimes netbeans hang at the start.😟 It is clear that the move to Apache has taken a lot of time and effort. To get back to the title. If you look at the statistics from JIRA you can see the open bugs as a pie chart (status).😵 For the professional use also the confidence in a program important. Especially on macOS Netbeans does not show itself from the best side. Therefore we hope that more priority will be given to bugfixes/testing. Am Sa., 15.
