Archived IS deprecated, it explicitly states “have been removed”. When it 
happened it was announced and there was way less noise about it then than now.

If you are running 8.2, backup your user dir then delete it and restart, you 
will not be able to get cvs support as it is also removed from the plugin 
portal.
