Netbeans' color scheme, but light and dark (but mostly dark) could
really use a revisit. There are moments where colors contrast is very
bad making it very hard to read the text (e.g. dark foreground on dark
background or light foreground on light background). I know this must be
difficult because there are many color combinations but I have begun
filing bug reports against these already. Once bug reports are filed,
who is going to take charge of the overall UI direction? I mean, this
will need someone to take a wholistic approach as opposed to splitting
the work across multiple committers.

I wouldn’t agree that it’s necessary, however. NetBeans does provide
the Norway Today (IIRC) theme which is dark. For the IDE chrome the
Dracula theme [1] provides this capability.
