Hi,

For me the cargo plugin works with Maven 2.0.10-RC9.
Here is my plugin configuration :

<plugin>
  <groupId>org.codehaus.cargo</groupId>
  <artifactId>cargo-maven2-plugin</artifactId>
  <configuration>
    <wait>false</wait>
    <container>
      <containerId>tomcat5x</containerId>
      <home>${tomcat.local.home}</home>
    </container>
    <configuration>
      <properties>
       <cargo.logging>high</cargo.logging>
       <cargo.servlet.port>${servlet.port}</cargo.servlet.port>
      </properties>
    </configuration>
  </configuration>
  <executions>
    <execution>
      <id>start-container</id>
      <phase>pre-integration-test</phase>
      <goals>
        <goal>start</goal>
      </goals>
    </execution>
    <execution>
      <id>stop-container</id>
      <phase>post-integration-test</phase>
      <goals>
        <goal>stop</goal>
      </goals>
    </execution>
  </executions>
</plugin>
