[m2] any idea when next release will be available ?

I wonder if anybody knows when the next release of maven will be 
available. It's been a long time since 2.0.4 was launched.
I am currently struggling to get maven working as an eclipse plugin 
since there's an issue in the embedder 
(http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-1070). The fact embedder does not 
handle settings.xml properly makes it a show stopper.
Any help will be appreciated.
